On December 25, Qianwan branch of Qingdao MSA organized and coordinated Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. to carry out a ship oil spill emergency response training to strengthen the emergency response ability of offshore oil spill in the enterprises under the jurisdiction.

The training exercise simulated that a fuel oil leak occurred in a ship berthed by the McDermott Wuchuan Company, and some fuel oil leaked into the sea, causing sea pollution. After the accident, the McDermott Wuchuan Company immediately activated the company's emergency response and reported to the Qianwan branch of Qingdao MSA.Qianwan branch rushed to the scene with organized emergency forces  in accordance with the "Oil Spill Emergency Rescue Plan", reported the on-site emergency treatment, organized and coordinated to carry out pollution prevention emergency treatment.

The on-site disposal team carried out the leakage point plugging and oil pollution cleaning of the accident ship in accordance with the plan to prevent oil pollution from entering the sea ; the marine cleaning group quickly laid an oil boom near the accident ship to prevent further spread of pollution. The waste oil water recovery ship carried out oil spill recovery, and used oil absorption felt and oil dispersant to clean up the oil pollution on the sea surface. Through the cooperation and active disposal of the emergency teams on the spot, the marine pollution accident was effectively controlled and the danger was lifted.

In this oil spill emergency drill, a total of 4 ships such as professional cleaning ships and transportation ships were dispatched, more than 500 meters of oil boom were placed, and more than 30 people participated. After the exercise, the law enforcement personnel of Qianwan branch of Qingdao MSA commented on the exercise and put forward suggestions for improvement according to the problems found.
