In order to further improve the emergency response capability of ro-ro passenger ships near Changdao Island, improve the practical skills of crew, and effectively protect the safety of land-island passenger transport during the "Qingming" holiday, Yantai Changdao MSA together with the shipping companies jointly carried out the ro-ro passenger ship fire drill on March 30.

The drill coincided with the deployment of the evacuation system of the vessel “CHANG DAO JIN ZHU”. Centering on the deployment of the evacuation system, the drill mainly simulated the self-rescue of the ship after the fire broke out in the vehicle compartment during the departure of the ship. Due to the large fire, the emergency plan of abandoning the ship was activated, and then evacuation, assembly and evacuation were carried out. In the fire drill, the fire scene of passenger luggage at the rear of the vehicle cabin was set to test the crew’s emergency response start and fire fighting and rescue quality. During the evacuation process, the crew’s use and operation level of inflatable life rafts and offshore evacuation systems were tested, and the life-saving equipment was also tested to ensure its availability at any time.
