Qingdao was covered by smog from 20 to 26 December and the visibility was poor in offshore waters, which severely influenced navigation safety and port operation. Qingdao MSA take effective steps in an effort to strengthen navigation safety supervision and service in haze weather.

Qingdao MSA attached close attention to the visibility in its jurisdictional area. Alerts and navigation safety information notices were punctually issued by various means to remind the units concerned of taking measures against smog. Regulations on navigation limitation were strictly implemented. In the meantime, monitoring and control were strengthened on navigation in key waters.
