Recently, the port state control officers (PSCO) of Qingdao MSA have carried out PSC inspections on the Super-size container ship PACIFIC OCEAN which is registered in Hongkong and owned by China Shipping Container Lines Co., LTD. The ship has the capacity of 18982 TEU, with the length of 400 meters and gross tonnage of 187541.

 

The PSCOs made the PSC inspection plan in advance and mainly conducted inspections on navigation safety, GMDSS, fire extinction appliances, life-saving appliances and pollution prevention facilities as well as practical operations. They also discussed with the crew on board about ship safety management and pollution prevention. In the meantime, the exercises required by the Central Inspection Compaign under Tokyo Memorandum were carried out.
