Shidao Maritime Division assists a foreign ship to berth at Shidao port |

At 1720 on 13 July, Shidao Maritime Division received an emergency call that the Russian-flagged reefer ship BEREG MECHTYDRO anchored 7 nautical miles southwest off Shidao port due to her main engine problems. The ship carried 9000 tons of squid, with a length of 152 meters, a gross tonnage of 12703 tons and a draft of 9 meters. She arrived in Shidao on 10 July and anchored off Shidao port to shelter from Typhoon CHAN-HOM. On 13 July when the typhoon left, the ship lost her engine power.
Shidao Maritime Division timely dispatched the tug SHIGANGTUO 18 to the scene for standby. Shidao Pilot Station and the tugboat and lighter company were coordinated to make plans for tugging and pilotage. Four tugs were arranged to assist the ship to berth. The patrol vessel HAIXUN05901 escorted the ship to the port. At 1200 on 14 July, BEREG MECHTYDRO berthed at Xingang dock in Shidao. |
