On the afternoon of 23 November, 2018 Longkou Maritime Search and Rescue Meeting was held in Longkou with the aim to intensify maritime search and rescue (SAR) ability and to build harmonious navigational environment. The meeting concluded 2018 Longkou SAR work, analyzed the situation and deployed Longkou SAR task for the next year. The member of the standing committee of the CPC LongkouMunicipal Committee and director of Longkou Maritime SAR Center Lin Yang was present at the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting were attended by member organizations of Longkou Maritime SAR Center and the port and shipping companies.

Lin Yang, on behalf of Longkou Municipal Government, expressed high appreciation for 2018 Longkou SAR work, and proposed four requirements on SAR work in the coming winter-spring period. In the year of 2018, Longkou Maritime SAR Center successfully responded 27 emergencies. 98 persons were rescued, with a success rate of rescue of 98.9%, and economic losses of 180 million Yuan were retrieved.
