Yantai MRCC Conducts Ro-Ro Passenger Ship Search and Rescue Exercise |
On September 29, Yantai Maritime Rescue and Coordination Center (MRCC) conducted 2022 ro-ro passenger ship search and rescue exercise, Yantai MSA, Yantai Communications Center, Yantai Mobile Communication Corporation, Yantai Radio and Broadcasting Center and Bohai Ferry Group Co. LTD participated in the exercise. The exercise, which was also broadcasted via live video, simulated the emergency response process of dangerous situations during the voyage of the Yantai - Dalian inter-provincial ro-ro passenger ship. Emergency coordination and command, self-rescue, shore-based support, fire-fighting and control, personnel collection and transfer, medical assistance for the wounded, and overboard personnel rescue were comprehensively practiced. In addition, intelligent means such as telemedicine and remote control lifebuoy were used, which has effectively improved the capability of maritime search and rescue, self-rescue and modern maritime emergency response. The exercise involved 2 vessels, 2 drones, 1 remote control lifebuoy and more than 10 5G mobile base stations, with more than 50 participants. During the exercise, the UAV and ship borne monitoring were combined to transmit real-time images through 5G 700M network. Through 5G signal coverage, the speed, breadth and penetration of information transmission were improved and video transmission of ships in distress, rescue ships and shore-based forces by land, sea and air was realized. The high-quality maritime search and rescue exercise lays a foundation for the application of 5G signal transmission in maritime search and rescue in the future. |
