Maritime Management Textbook Emergency Response to Pollution from Ships Officially Published


Recently, the core maritime management textbook Emergency Response to Pollution from Ships, the compilation of which was led by Yantai Oil Spill Response Technical Center of Yantai MSA, was officially published by the China Communications Press. This book will be used as a teaching material for maritime management related majors in higher education and fill the gap of teaching materials in the field of maritime management undergraduate education in China.

 

The textbook consists of 7 chapters and more than 450,000 words, which expounds the development history of ship pollution emergency response, relevant provisions of domestic laws and regulations, international and domestic ship pollution risk, current situation of China’s ship pollution emergency response capacity building and international cooperation in pollution emergency response. It also introduces the current emergency response process, emergency response technology and relevant regulations of pollution damage compensation for oil spill emergency response and hazardous chemicals emergency response, and analyze the development trend of ship pollution emergency management in China. In order to deepen the readers’ overall understanding of ship pollution emergency response, the appendix lists the typical cases at home and abroad in recent years.

 

Yantai Oil Spill Response Technical Center, as a professional maritime oil spill emergency technical institution, has been committed to the research and promotion of oil spill emergency technology, has completed a number of national, provincial and ministerial research projects, undertaken the drafting of 16 national and industry standards.
