Qingdao MSA Ensures the Sea Trial of Deepwater Diving Support Vessel,giving Full Play to Support the National Major Project

       The new deepwater diving support vessel Shenda, named grand projects of China, is designed and constructed independently. It is 177 meters long and 33 meters wide. It has appeared in the Super Machine column of CCTV. It is a high-end marine equipment and a set of rescue and salvage, saturated diving, deep water ocean engineering operations and pipe laying operations. It’s also the crucial point for building China into a maritime power and improving China's maritime strategy. After the ship is put into use, China's saturation diving depth will be officially towards 500 meters, underwater lifting operations will be expanded to 6,000 meters. In order to guarantee the proper development of the trial, Qingdao MSA took careful and scientific arrangements.

       Firstly, it issued navigation warnings accurately in different areas. As the trial of "Shenda" requires very high water depth, ocean current and meteorological conditions, Qingdao MSA has accurately delineated three trial waters and issued navigation warnings to the public in different time, so as to ensure the effect of the test while avoiding the impact on the normal navigation of Qingdao Port.

       Secondly, it fullfilled its role by combination of dynamic and static maritime supervision. VTS and other branches also strived for trial program safety assessment and inspection before the trial. During the trial trip, the system of ship inspection and safety check by telephone was strictly implemented, and especially focused on monitoring the test ships.

       Third, it harnessed the strength in traffic organisation and information services, reminding the passing ships to take care of the dynamics of the pilot vessel to avoid the situation of ship encounter timely. Moreover, it paid close attention to weather changes, promptly stop trial and take safety measures based on wind and visibility conditions.
